Grades

It is 10:30, Thursday night and I just got back from a funeral. My dad's aunt passed away. I am now sitting in front of the computer trying to enter the last few grades for the class, and guess what? The gradebook doesn't want to work! I will try again in a little bit, but if it doesn't work, I will enter everything I have left as soon as I get home from the workshop tomorrow. Grades do not have to be finalized until Monday, so those of you that are waiting, please be patient. I will get them in before I leave to Orlando on Saturday. A musician is walking home alone late one night and is startled when a dog in a yard to his left barks unexpectedly. Respond to each of the following regarding the musician's ability to hear the bark.

AP Psychology Research (Chapter 2) Assignments

Assignment 1: Stranger Paper

Identify a fellow classmate whom you do not know, or do not know very well at all. Your task will be to observe them through next Friday, September 9th. You will be responsible for writing a paper about their personality characteristics, based solely on your observations, inferences and conclusions. You are not allowed to talk to this person, let them know you are observing them, or ask anyone else about your subject. This is intended to be empirical evidence. Please keep the identity of your subject a secret until you write the paper. Do not let anyone else know who you are observing.

This paper should NOT be a simple listing of what the person wore and did but conclusions about your stranger based on the observations you have made. For example, if a student's notebook and folders are all adorn with Harry Potter pictures, we might guess they are a fan of the books and/or movies.

The primary purpose of the paper is to watch the person and then develop some conclusions about the person based on your observations. Again, do not simply list observations. It may be helpful to keep a small notebook of observations.

The paper should be 1-1½ pages, double spaced.
